ScottAdam Systems are IT and accounting system specialists based in North London. We have been working with small and medium sized businesses for the past 12 years and provide the full range of IT services and are also a specialist centre for Access Accounts. In order to support our continued growth we are looking to recruit the following:
Crystal Report Writer and Access Accounts Support
Knowledge skills and experience should include:
- Crystal Reports
- Good understanding of accounting systems and procedures is essential
- Knowledge of a Microsoft SQL environment including SQL maintenance chores, creating procedures and views, preferably with SQL triggers
- VB.net (optional)
- Knowledge of payroll systems (optional)
- Ability to document procedures and communicate these to relevant personnel
- Ability to develop and implement robust testing plan involving other members of staff and clients as appropriate

- Be able to work efficiently and effectively without close supervision
- Willingness to train and develop new software skills
- Ability to provide innovative solutions to client problems
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
- Able to operate within company procedures at all times
Position
Many of our clients use Access Dimensions often with user defined modifications for their key accounting requirements. These clients can have complex reporting requirements involving issues such as foreign currency, consolidation, FSA reporting, etc.
The candidate must be able to interpret these requirements and present and deliver workable solutions. Reports are generally written using Crystal Reports and/or Excel against a MS SQL 2000 data source. Ideally the candidate also has the ability to create SQL views and store procedures, while knowledge of VB.net and SQL triggers would be useful.
In addition we would expect the candidate to undertake training in Access Dimensions. This would enhance their ability to perform the above and also enable them to provide both telephone and on-site support and training to our clients.
We are always looking at new technologies and software products. Staff are encouraged to invest time in investigating and training on such products.
Salary: £30-35,000 depending on experience.
